“As Close as it Gets: Riding Out of the Saddles” | video · color · single channel · 16/9 · 11’11'' · 2023

From my studio located in Jerusalem’s Talpiot neighborhood, I enter a dance choreographed by two workers spinning around the future controversial Dome of Beit Safafa’s mosque. For this work, I imagine the sounds they make on the construction site and recreate them with the wheel of my bike and my ladder, while preparing for a risky ride at the transition between the two urban districts.

In this work, I created a pan shot inspired by “La Forma della Città” (1974), Pier Paolo Pasolini offering a poetic engagement in filming the inconceivable transition between one neighborhood and another, one period and another.

This work is also a freedom practice.
